Margaret Atwood
explained on Women's Hour, BBC Radio 4, the problems encountered with her
electronic pen, which can write her signature in a bookshop miles away from
where she is writing:
'When writing, you are doing something very complicated. You
are pulling 6g of gravity when you write and you are reversing at the same
speed. If you were a motorcar doing the same thing you would fall apart'.
Is it any wonder that it takes time and effort for a child to learn this skill?
