Membership of the National Handwriting Association will keep you in touch with research, new ideas, new resources and with other people working to improve handwriting teaching.

NHA offers membership at different levels to suit needs:

Individual membership  £15 p.a. or £12.50 by Standing Order

An individual will receive

• A Welcome Pack including a copy of Hands Up for Handwriting’– lively warm-up exercises to prepare for handwriting.

• A copy of the NHA annual journal Handwriting Today containing articles on all aspects of handwriting – research reports, articles, tips for teachers, book and equipment reviews, association news

• A 40% discount on all NHA publications

• Reduced rates on NHS courses

(if wished, an individual may join on behalf of a school, library, development centre etc. but only the named individual is eligible for reductions on courses and publications.)

Institution membership  £30 p.a. or £25 by Standing Order

Schools, libraries, or other institutions may join at this higher rate. They will receive second copies of Hands Up for Handwriting and Handwriting Today which make a valuable resource for the staff bookshelf and any member of the institution may take advantage of member rates on NHA publications and courses.

The 'Friends of NHA'

We are aware of a number of individuals and smaller companies who are sympathetic to the aims of the Association but who cannot support the cost of Corporate Membership. We are therefore launching a new initiative in the form of Friends of the National Handwriting Association for those who would like to offer support, whether on a one-off or continuing basis. The minimum donation is £30. Donors will be listed in the annual Journal of the Association and will receive an annual newsletter dedicated to keeping informed about the activities of the Association. Corporate membership  £500 p.a.

The NHA is keen to work in partnership with companies that serve the handwriting market and now offers Corporate membership. This demonstrates that a company supports the aims of the National Handwriting Association and is assisting in furthering our work. Any company interested in supporting us in this way, please contact the NHA Administrator.
