November 08 Handwriting Today No 7 Autumn 2008 Handwriting Today sent out to members. Included in the posting is Tips for Teachers - 'S' Rules for quick assessment , Above Year 4, Speeding Up and Patterns September 08 New Patron Sir Jim Rose, chairman of the committee looking into Primary Literacy, has agreed to become our first patron and we are delighted to welcome him. The 'Friends of NHA' programme is now up and running. We are aware of a number of individuals and smaller companies who are sympathetic to the aims of the Association but who cannot support the cost of Corporate Membership. We are therefore launching a new initiative in the form of Friends of the National Handwriting Association for those who would like to offer support, whether on a one-off or continuing basis. The minimum donation is £30. Donors will be listed in the annual Journal of the Association and will receive an annual newsletter dedicated to keeping informed about the activities of the Association. The 'Friends of NHA' Coordinator is Dorothy Penso New Logo The design has now been finalised for the new NHA logo and will be in general use from January 2009. Keep a lookout for its appearance on the website. Tutor Register: The NHA currently holds a register of tutors available to work with individuals. At present number are limited, but the list is growing. Contact Mary Howard. for a lists of tutors in your area, or fill in this form if you wish to register as a tutor. The information in this Handwriting Tutor Register refers to individuals whom we believe to be properly qualified. However no responsibility whatsoever either in contract or in negligence is accepted by the National Handwriting Association for the qualification or suitability of any person in the Register.
